Our Purpose
The Office of Online Learning at UofL partners with academic units and colleges across the university to design, deliver and support online programs that are flexible, rigorous and built for real life.
UofL Online connects learners with high quality, career-forward and market-aligned online degrees and certificates.
Our role is simple and essential: remove barriers, provide a intellectually engaging student experience and help learners move toward their goals with confidence.

For over a decade, UofL's online bachelor's degrees and several master's degrees have been consistently ranked amongst the Best in Nation and Best for Veterans by U.S. News & World Report, reflecting our commitment to academic excellence and student support.
Our Institution
As one of the nation’s first city-owned public universities, the University of Louisville is a nationally recognized research institution committed to creating opportunity, advancing knowledge and serving its community. UofL offers 70+ fully online programs at undergraduate, graduate and doctorate levels, ensuring learners receive the same respected credential and academic experience as on-campus students.
Online programs are available through the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education and Human Development, Kent School of Social Work and Family Science, J.B. Speed School of Engineering, School of Medicine, School of Nursing and School of Public Health and Information Sciences.
UofL proudly supports active-duty service members and veterans, both domestically and internationally. Our institution’s consistent commitment to service members and their transition from military life to student life has been recognized through our Military-Friendly® designation, awarded for more than ten consecutive years. Accreditation
The University of Louisville is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC). SACSCOC is recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. The SACSCOC Principles of Accreditation apply to all programs of the institution, regardless of mode of delivery. A requirement for continued accreditation by SACSCOC is that institutions must ensure that their distance and correspondence education courses and programs comply with the Principles of Accreditation. This applies to all educational programs and services, wherever located or however delivered. The university received reaffirmation of accreditation in 2018. The next review will take place in 2027.
The University of Louisville is in compliance with the SACSCOC Distance Education and Correspondence Courses Policy Statement.
